Teaching Spanish to the Jetro Websters!

Avatar: Official post Official post

I have unexpectedly started the journey of teaching! It is actually very hard to be a teacher! I think that the best method to teach a language is to provide structure, for habits, and give students exciting reasons to come back to the classroom every time. I cannot believe how much work that actually takes! it is my first time planning for classes, slides, and homework. I find myself learning things I did not know! it is truly eye-opening to see the perspectives of those learning the language that I claim "I already know"

Now I know I don't have a good rep with Spanish nor am I interested in learning its history, but it is imperative to learn how this language affected the people who came before me, to them it was a generational abuse but to us it is a tool for communication.

Regardless, I am excited to see my fellow co-workers learn some of that history through the language. Even though I provide the structure of a college classroom in Spanish 101, I will also provide the authenticity that come from a central american!
