Who should we invite to the event?

Avatar: Jeff Elkner Jeff Elkner
We agreed at our planning meeting on Thursday, November 14th that the central focus of the dinner will be to bring together worker / owners from the three cleaning cooperatives active in the DMV: Mujeres Manos a la Obra, Magic Broom, and Dulce Hogar.
SECOSOL Vice President Heylin Rodriguez agreed to work with Mujeres Manos a la Obra to contact members of Dulce Hogar to meet with them, invite them to the dinner, and ask them if they would like to be involved in setting it up. We agreed Beloved Community Incubator should be cc'd on this outreach.
We also agreed at the same meeting that SECOSOL organizer Johanna Garay would reach out next week to TWU Executive Director Evelin Urrutia to ask for TWU members / contacts in the Arlandira / Chirilagua community who:
1. could provide food for the event
2. might be interested in learning more about worker coops and the solidarity economy
Johanna also discussed a community activist involved in mutual aid programs in the Arlington Latino community.
SECOSOL Secretary Daniela Londono said she would invite our friend Pat Findikoglu from Arlington VOICE.
DNOVA Council member from GMU Eleanor Finley will invite a Latino journalist active with the Next Systems Study program to cover the event for their podcast.
