Octree-VOCA
Voca is a project by Octree, which is localized in Switzerland. This project helps create and manage instances of Decidim. However, they also go beyond the normal features of Decidim. Some features they highlight are: The platforms they create use both AwesomeDecidim and term customizer (allows for customization and more), which are plug-ins created by the community that I've written about before. It also has various templates for the different projects (participitatory budgeting, assemblies, etc)…
Decidim-Interactive Maps
Jetro Web Development has started looking into potential office spaces. This caused me to start looking into the map functionalities of Decidim as being able to place all their potential office spaces on a map would have been useful. I found out that Decidim doesn't really enable maps through their own modules/components. However, it does support map service providers, which after various configurations that can be placed to enable proposals and meeting places to be placed on an interactive map.…
Basic Introduction of Decidim
Decidim is a web software application meant to increase citizen participation. It contains many features meant to help citizens communicate with their government. All modules in Decidim like proposals, and meetings are there because it is believed they will help achieve this goal. Decidim also helps with organizing/planning events through processes, which can have multiple phases, a set start and end date. Moreover, it still is able to use all the modulesmeaning these planned events can have cit…
Decidim Version 0.29.0
Decidim version 0.29.0 was released on December 9th in 2025. The update primarily focused on the mobile user experience and improving preexisting features. The full list of all the changes can be viewed here. I will only be focusing on part of the list so I recommend looking at the full list. Assemblies and Processes now automatically have landing pages with meeting documents sorted under "Meeting Documents". Decidim Modules/Plugins: Decidim Awesome
Decidim Awesome does a lot of things. In fact in its README file a total of 21 features are listed. All these features can be turned off from the Decidim-Awesome configuration area which is in "admin/decidim_awesome." It is also one of the modules that are compatible to version 0.28 of Decidim, (I've recently realized that a lot that I've discussed aren't compatible with the version we have our Decidim on) which is the one that both the Test Decidim Server and this Decidim server uses. Decidim A…

How to use Decidim like OpenProject
Often through naming objects, we limit how we can use them. That is to say I believe that many of the parts of Decidim can be used similarly to parts in OpenProject. For example, a process contains its own phases with dates you can set, which is similar to the project phases in OpenProject.Proposals is a Decidim module that can act as project ideas or tasks. They could hold the people who are assigned to a certain task, who are supervising, and the estimated amount of time, date, and priority. U…
Decidim Modules/Plugins: Dev, Plans, Newletter Agenda, & Participatory Documents
1. Dev This module is a foundational tool for developers working within Decidim. It enables local development, testing, and customization of Decidim's components. It includes testing utilities and resources to support module testing, and it can even generate dummy applications for a secure sandbox environment. We should leverage this when creating/testing any custom modules.https://github.com/decidim/decidim/tree/develop/decidim-dev2.Newsletter Agenda This module provides a specialized newsletter …
Official Modules:Budgets
The Budgets component allows people to vote by selecting projects of their choosing. Typically it assigns people with a total budget and the projects have value. This would be very useful if we had certain projects that we had to decide between (like VASEN Luncheon, VASEN Dinner, VASEN Barbecue or new chairs, etc). Regardless, I believe we can change this module to one that is more useful if we could use it to log the budget usage for the NOVA Decidim Project. Additionally, it could be useful fo…
